2011 Zenith Awards Dinner
We are pleased to serve as the Honorary Chairs for the National Association of Minority Contractors, Inc.(NAMC)—Greater Houston Chapter as we present our 5th Annual Zenith Awards Dinner at the Downtown Aquarium located at 410 Bagby, Friday, October 7, 2011. We are especially pleased to have as our keynote speaker Ms. Valerie B. Jarrett, who is Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama and Director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs. We have an exciting evening planned for nearly 300 guests.
During the evening, we will present our prestigious Zenith Awards to the following: Agency of the Year—Houston Aviation, Department Director Mario Diaz; Public Servant of the Year—The Honorable Ronald Reynolds, State Representative, District 27; Member of the Year—Momentum Construction; Associate Member of the Year—AECOM; Corporate Partner of the Year—JE Dunn Construction, and Chairman’s Award—CBIC Construction and Development, LP; and City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Business Opportunity Manager Roger Harris will receive the NABC Spirit Award.
NAMC—Greater Houston Chapter is an affiliate of NAMC which is a nonprofit trade association established in 1969 to address the needs and concerns of minority contractors. While membership in the organization is open to all contractors, our core purpose is “Building Bridges – Crossing Barriers,” focuses on construction industry concerns common to African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans contractors in the greater Houston Area.
The history of NAMC-Greater Houston Chapter is a story of upholding traditions of high quality, professional educational services for the construction community. Through our Imagine Project, we invest in today’s youth by providing an after school program that mentors and tracks the progress of participating elementary students through high school graduation. Since the next generation of contractors will come from today’s youth, we feel a responsibility to invest, encourage and train our young people to become influential, successful contractors who thrive in a competitive market.
The dinner serves as our annual fundraiser that benefits The NAMC Foundation and The IMAGINE Project, which encourages the entrepreneurial spirit of students interested in the field of construction. Accordingly, your company’s support of NAMC’s efforts to continue serving our members and our community is greatly appreciated.
